Dear Parents Elder Ashton Smith,We are very grateful to have your son in our mission. He is serving very well and are make a great job. We are grateful for your support and letters.
In our mission, 60% of the missionaries are Brazilian and most of them are from poor areas of the country. As the Christmas season draws nearer, most of these missionaries won’t receive anything for the holidays, while others will receive packages and gifts from home. Although we would like to provide every missionary with the joy of receiving a Christmas package, we do not have funds in the mission to do that.
So if you would like to help, and it would not be a burden for your family, we invite you to send an extra package for a missionary that won’t receive one. Feel free to send what you think would be nice, but candies and things like that are always great.
If you want to extend this invitation to other members of your ward, that would be wonderful as well.
Please send the packages to the mission home so everything can be distributed evenly among the missionaries.
We are very grateful for your help and generosity, and we pray for you and your family.
Sincerely,
Sister Silva
