Homecoming Success!

Cade's homecoming was a success. On Friday we got together and talked about all of the things that he might want to say because they asked him to talk about his mission and to bear his testimony. He was speaking with two high councilmen so they always need some time to talk so we knew Cade's was supposed to be short and sweet. I helped him write his talk and then typed it all up so that he could refer to it often. Tony told me Sunday morning at church that Cade had told him that he was going to improvise a bit so that got me kind of worried because you never know what Cade will say to make people laugh! So he gets up to the pulpit, after the bishop congratulated him and gave him his plaque that has been hanging in the foyer, and says something to the effect of, "I just wanted to say that I felt like I was getting an MVP award.......Most Valuable Priesthood!" Then he went on to deliver his talk and did really well. Afterwards we headed home for those who had come a long way and fed them lunch.

Grandma Fry came and so did Tony's parents from Idaho along with Tony's sister, Suzy and her husband, Kenny, and daughter, Marci. The other missionaries that served along with Cade also came and it was so nice of them to come support Cade. We will see them again in a couple of weeks when Elder Gonzalez speaks! Cade's mission was quite a success and we have really seen Cade grow and progress in so many ways. He is now working at D.I. in their training program so that he can get prepared to find a job that he will enjoy and one that will help him become self-reliant.....Way to go, Cade!!!!
