Wagner, one of the members where Elder Ashton is serving took him and is companion, Elder Bauer on a hike to see a statue of Christ which was built up above the city. 
Elder Ashton said it was hideous
(I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that) but it is hard to see because the lighting is too dark on the statue (as if you can't see that for yourselves!)
When they got to the top they could see this other city but Elder Ashton forgot the name of it.
This is a thorny bush that is growing by the hideous statue.

Two years in another culture...quite an education for a young American. It is important to gain insight into where people are 'coming from' to help them learn where they should go.
